A police lieutenant and another policeman, who was among the 357 policemen in President Duterte's drug list, have tested positive for illegal drugs use.
Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas, director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), said he had already ordered the filing of charges against the two Metro Manila policemen.
He identified them as Lt. Rodel Torres, assigned at the Muntinlipa City; and, Staff Sgt. Ronald Carpio, who had just been assigned to the NCRPO.
"They were both tested positive for using shabu as revealed by the result of the drug test," said Sinas.
Sinas earlier order the conduct of random drug tests among the NCRPO personnel as part of the efforts to identify policemen who are hooked on drugs.
The urine samples of both Torres and Caroio tested positive for shabu. The same urine samples were used during the confirmatory which confirmed earlier results.
Sinas disclosed that Carpio was among the 357 policemen in the narcolist.
All those in the narco-cop list are now being subjected to one-month adjudication.
"Appropriate administrative charges will be filed against these two policemen and follow-up investigations are being conducted," said Sinas.
The official said that random drug testing will continue as part of internal cleansing.
