The prevailing northeast monsoon or "amihan" continued to bring early morning breeze across Luzon on Tuesday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said the "amihan" may bring cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila, Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Sorsogon, Masbate, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon, Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, Zambales, Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, and Quirino.
The rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light monsoon rains.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers may affect Visayas and Mindanao due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA advised the public to take precautions against possible flash floods over low-lying areas or landslides in mountainous communities during severe thunderstorms.
A gale warning was in effect on Tuesday due to strong to very strong winds associated with the "amihan."
Fishing boats and small sea crafts were advised not to set sail into the coasts of Batanes, Cagayan, Babuyan Islands, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, Polillo group of islands, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Sorsogon, Samar, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar.
Meanwhile, larger sea vessels should remain alert against very rough sea condition.
Warmer mornings ahead
Based on the PAGASA's extended weather outlook, minimum temperature range in Metro Manila from February 19 to February 22 is between 23 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, minimum temperature in Baguio City is forecast at 14 degrees Celsius to 15 degrees Celsius during the same period.
The northeast monsoon usually reaches its peak during February. Baguio City's lowest air temperature this year reached 10.2 degrees Celsius last Feb.1, while Metro Manila's coldest days this "amihan" season were last Feb. 1 and 4 when the air temperature fell to 18.5 degrees Celsius.
Last year, PAGASA terminated the "amihan" season on March 22. The end of northeast monsoon signals the start of dry season, commonly called "summer," in the Philippines.
