The northeast monsoon or "amihan" will continue to bring chilly weather across the country that may result in dip in mercury in the next few days, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Based on the PAGASA's extended weather outlook for key areas, minimum air temperature ranges from Feb. 2 to Feb. 5 are as follows: Metro Manila (20-23 degrees Celsius); Tuguegarao City, Cagayan (18-21 degrees Celsius); Laoag City, Ilocos Norte (18-22 degrees Celsius); Baguio City (10-15 degrees Celsius); Tagaytay City (19-22 degrees Celsius); Metro Cebu (24-25 degrees Celsius); Valencia City, Bukidnon (16-19 degrees Celsius), and Metro Davao (24 degrees Celsius).Â
Baguio City and Metro Manila both recorded their lowest air temperatures so far since the start of the amihan season on Jan. 31, 2021.Â
Baguio City registered a 9.4 degrees Celsius temperature, while PAGASA's Science Garden monitoring station in Quezon City recorded 19.9 degrees Celsius early Sunday.
Monsoon rains may also affect Biliran, Leyte, Northern Samar, Samar, Eastern Samar, Southern Leyte, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, and Davao Occidental.
Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Albay, Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Sorsogon, Masbate, Aurora, and Quezon may also receive light amihan rains.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated monsoon rains.
A gale warning was in effect on Monday as strong to gale force winds associated with the northeast monsoon may affect several coasts.
Rough to very rough seas may bring rough to very rough seas over northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon, western seaboard of Northern Luzon, and eastern seaboard of Visayas and Mindanao.
PAGASA weather specialist Meno Mendoza said they are not expecting a tropical cyclone to affect or form within the Philippine area of responsibility in the next two to three days.Â
