BUTUAN CITY – Four mild tectonic earthquakes jolted Surigao Del Norte and Province of Dinagat Islands (PDI) on Friday, Dec. 13, 2019, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

The state agency said the earthquakes did not inflict any damage or injury.
In its bulletin, Phivolcs said a 2.3-magnitude tremor was registered at 5:21 a.m.on Dec. 13.
The epicenter was plotted 17 kilometers (km) northwest of Santa Monica (Sapao), Surigao del Norte province, it said. The tremor had a depth of 22 km.
Earlier, at 5:01 a.m., a magnitude 2.4 earthquake was also recorded. The epicenter was traced only 5 km northeast from the city proper of Surigao of that same province, Phivolcs said. The tremor had a depth of 30 km, the state agency.
At 3:40 a.m., a 2.5 magnitude tremor was also registered and its epicenter was pinpointed 6 km southeast of Dapa, Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte, with a depth of 15 km, Phivolcs also said.
A 2.3 magnitude earthquake was also recorded at 2:09 a.m. and its epicenter was traced 12 km northwest of Loreto town of that same province of PDI, with a depth of 98 km, the state agency added.
The Surigao del Norte, Surigao City and PDI disaster risk reduction and management councils there reported no damage or injury.
A 3.0 magnitude tremor was also registered at 2:01 a.m. on Friday and its epicenter was located 82 km southeast of Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental, with a depth of 16 km.
The Davao Occidental disaster risk reduction and management councils reported no damage or injury.
