Mr. Gay World Philippines official candidates launched

Launched recently are the official candidates to the Mr. Gay World Philippines, the winner of which will represent the country in the Mr. Gay World 2010 in Oslo, Norway.

The 19 candidates are: Lander Ballada, Tijou Josiah Uy, Nino Ocampo, Ronald Alva, Herbert Chavez, Loyd Abella, Jethro Cuenca, Venn Macadangdang, Charles William Tan, Melvin Algabre, Raul Nebres, Winston Alejandro, Wilson Elizalde, Romel Gueco, Erimar Ortigas, Nomer Yuzon, David Bosley, Shi-Rho Toshi Lee, and Marvin Yao. They were chosen from among thousands of aspirants.

The winner will be known on Oct. 25 at the grand finals to be hosted by the multi-awarded TV host Boy Abunda. It will be held at Metrobar along West Ave., Quezon City. Rodgil Flores will be the stage director, while over-all director is Ronald Carballo. Archie Zobel is choreographer.

Producing the Mr. Gay World Philippines competition is Winstruck Events Productions and Marketing Company which was founded in 2005 by Ms. Noemi Alberto and Mac Bordallo. The company’s activities include maketing launches, special events management, entertainment productions and talent management.

Some of Winstruck successful projects include the Philippine National Wall Climbing Competition, the La Union Surfing Break, Metro Rock Concert, One Love Feed Raising and Mr. Gay Philippines. Their talents include Glitters, Skabeche, Collie Herb and Bambuspliff. Affiliates include Pineapple Riddims Recording Company, Vinosa Promotion and Training Center and Aqium International Agency, Inc. Future projects will include indie movie production, Pinoys Choise Awards and others.

The primary purpose of the Mr. Gay World (MGW) competition, according to the producers, is “to identify leaders who will take responsibility of being spokespersons not only in their community but on a global stage speaking out for equal human rights… The MGW is a positive role model and will work on humanizing being gay in the media…”
