‘StarStruck’ alum fractures skull
“StarStruck 2” runner-up CJ Muere sustained skull fractures after getting into a road incident on Oct. 15 with a group of college students who allegedly hit him in the head with a golf club.
This is according to the Oct. 16 report of QTV-11’s “Balitanghali” which caught up with Muere outside the emergency room of the Manila Doctors Hospital in Manila last night.
Citing Muere’s statement to the Manila Police District Station 9, the news report said the students were riding a yellow Honda Civic near the stoplight along Roxas Blvd. in Manila when one of them hit him.
It added that Muere and his girlfriend Tracy Domingo were on their way to a mall in Pasay City with the former driving his black Mazda when the passengers of the Honda Civic started berating him.
Domingo recalled in the interview that the suspects cursed and gave CJ the dirty finger. “Pino-provoke nila si CJ then I said [to CJ], ‘Wag mo na silang pansinin,” she said.
[I asked again] ‘Ano ba ang problema? Sino ba kayo?’
The subsequent medical examination done on Muere revealed that his injuries should not be taken lightly, the news report said.
Suspects Marvin James Hilba and John Roberto Ortega, on the other hand, declined to be interviewed but claimed off-air that what they did was out of self-defense. They added that they would also file a complaint against Muere whom they accused of starting the whole commotion.
Muere placed second to “StarStruck 2” winner Mike Tan. He had a few hosting and acting gigs, notably as Ding to Angel Locsin’s Darna in 2005. According to his Wikipedia page, Muere decided to quit showbiz to focus on his dentistry studies.
