Sharon Cuneta clarifies cancer buzz

Megastar Sharon Cuneta has confirmed that the three cysts she recently discovered in her breasts are benign.
“Lahat ng tests said benign, nothing to worry about. Wala pong signs of cancer. Kung meron eh di sana nag-Disneyland na lang ako araw-araw,” she said on “Startalk.”
Bong fears ‘Panday’ won’t make it to MMFF
Because of a new Commission of Elections (COMELEC) ruling, Bong Revilla’s entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival, “Panday,” might not hit theatres this December.
The new ruling under COMELEC Resolution 8678 requires aspirants to file their candidacy from November 20 to 30, after which they will not be allowed undue publicity.
“Kung hindi maipapalabas ang ‘Panday’ sa Dec. 25 [ay] manghihinayang ako [kasi] regalo ko ‘to sa mga kids,” said the senator-actor who’s eyeing a re-electionist post in 2010.
Bong agrees with TV host-comedian Vic Sotto that the Metro Manila Film Festival should thrive on healthy competition.

‘Wala akong dapat ipagselos!’ – Marian Rivera
Marian Rivera belied rumors that she is jealous of the growing closeness between her boyfriend Dingdong Dantes and his current onscreen partner Rhian Ramos.
“Walang dahilan para magselos at hindi [Dingdong] niya rin ako binibigyan ng dahilan para magselos,” she said.
Dingdong describes his friendship with Rhian as “a work in progress.”
“Habang dumadagdag ‘yung araw na mas nakikilala ko siya, mas na-a-appreciate ko siya,” he said.
In turn, Rhian commented: “Hindi kami nauuubusan ng things to talk about. I’m glad we’re growing.”
For her birthday, Dingdong gave Rhian her favorite cake.
CJ Muere still under observation
After getting into a road fight on Oct. 15, “StarStruck” alumnus CJ Muere said his fractured skull is still under observation.
“Merong mga suspicious fractures, so under observation pa,” CJ revealed on “Startalk.”
The “StarStruck” Batch 2 First Prince had several stitches on his head, which was allegedly hit by a golf club by a college student.
He has filed a case against suspects Marvin James Hilba and John Roberto Ortega, who reportedly engaged him and girlfriend Tracy Domingo in a road dispute after overtaking them and provoking CJ to a fight.
“May batas tayong nakalaan para diyan. Gusto kong panagutan nila yung ginawa nila sa’kin,” said he.
Dingdong Dantes gets first scholarship grant for foundation
Actor Dingdong Dantes recently visited Laguna State Polytechnic University to give their first scholarship grant under his organization, Yes Pinoy Foundation. He came with girlfriend Marian Rivera.
Jackie Lou-Ricky marriage on the rocks?
Singer Pilita Corales confessed that she has hunches about the “on-the-rocks” marriage of her daughter Jackie Lou Blanco to husband Ricky Davao.
“If there is any problem, they should decide already. Kung wala na talaga siguro, better for them to live their own lives,” she said.
Jackie Lou admitted that she and her husband go through tough times but they are working on it.
“Sometimes we’re okay, sometimes we’re not okay. I learned from my mom that if there’s problem, you don’t leave the house [because] if you physically separate yourself from the spouse, you may get used to it,” said she.
OPM artists unite
OPM artists break network barriers as they join forces in Ogie Alcasid’s fundraising concert, “Kaya Natin ‘To!”
A total of 39 artists will participate in the show. These include Zsa Zsa Padilla, Sharon Cuneta, KC Concepcion, Kyla, Jolina Magdangal, Jay R, Rico Blanco, Sitti, and Erik Santos.
Ogie Alcasid wrote a song of the same title which he hopes will “uplift everyone, hindi lang ‘yung mga biktima, kundi pati tayong hindi naapektuhan para magtulungan tayo. ‘Yun yung message ng kanta: If we’re together, we can do this!”
The fundraising concert, which will be held on Dec. 5 at the Mall of Asia concert grounds, will be directed by Rowell Santiago.
Richard Gutierrez, Heart Evangelista go full force on ‘Full House’
Richard Gutierrez and Heart Evangelista are equally ecstatic about their next show, the remake of the Koreanovela hit, “Full House.”
The two shared they have watched the whole series to familiarize themselves with the well-loved characters of Jessie and Justin, originally played by Song Hye Kyo and Rain, respectively.
“Sana mabigyan namin ng justice ‘yung [remake],” said Richard.
Richard Gutierrez and Cristine Reyes ‘relax’ in Subic
Richard Gutierrez and Cristine Reyes confirmed that they have grown closer to each other since their taping days in “Patient X”, and more so, with their typhoon Ondoy quest.
The two recently went to Subic to take time off.
“Yung Subic trip was basically a day off. Gusto lang namin mag-relax kasi malapit nang ipalabas ‘yung ‘Patient X’ at magiging busy ulit kami,” Richard related.
Rufa Mae Quinto writes 'Ondoy’-inspired song
Sexy comedienne Rufa Mae Quinto has written a full-length English song inspired by the onslaught of typhoon “Ondoy.”
“Masikip at madilim n’un. Sabi ko sa pamangkin ko, ‘Gawa tayo ng kanta tungkol sa bagyo’. Ni-record ko sa cell phone ko.”
The actress has also foregone moving into a new house in favor of aiding her relatives who were affected by the calamity.
“Hindi ko tinuloy yung pagpapagawa n’ung bahay. Inuna ko muna ‘yung pagpapatambak sa mga garahe ng mga kamag-anak ko,” said she.
Dennis Trillo feels ‘astig’ for Pusan citation
Actor Dennis Trillo is very happy that his first indie film, “Astig,” has received a special citation in the New Currents competition of the Pusan International Film Festival.
“Masarap ‘yung pakiramdam na hindi lang sa Pilipinas siya tinangkilik kundi pati rin sa ibang bansa. Maraming tao talaga ‘yung nagpakita ng interes,” said Dennis in a phone interview on “Startalk.”
“Astig” was co-produced by Boy Abunda and directed by Giuseppe Bede Sampedro.
Geoff Eigemann won’t take advantage of Carla Abellana
Geoff Eigemann said he will not take advantage of leading lady Carla Abellana’s situation in her recent break-up with boyfriend JC Intal.
“There’s really no point [for me to court her now]. I don’t want to take advantage of the situation. Kahit naman anong mangyari, I’m still gonna be there for her,” clarified Geoff.
Carla also denied rumors that Geoff is courting her.
“Hindi nanliligaw si Geoff. Hindi [rin] kami nagde-date kasi busy kami sa trabaho. [Pero] kung may time, bakit naman hindi?” she said.
Iwa Moto denies break-up rumors
Kapuso actress Iwa Moto refuted chitchats that she has broken up with her boyfriend.
“Okay kami. Sinundo pa nga niya ako nung Friday, eh. Positive thinking lang talaga na ito na ‘yung huling relationship. Masaya kami sa buhay namin kaya sana maging masaya na rin po kayo [para sa amin],” she said.

Glaiza de Castro hospitalized for stress
“Stairway to Heaven” villainess Glaiza de Castro was rushed to the hospital after a health breakdown while taping for the soap opera.
“Stress lang talaga [ang dahilan]. Walang tamang tulog, tapos naligo agad, eh malamig pa naman ‘yung pinaligo ko,” she explained.
Rhian Ramos invades recording
Known nowadays for her portrayal of Jodi in “Stairway to Heaven,” people will soon get to know Rhian Ramos, too, for “You,” the promotional single of the “Audition Dance Battle” album.
Double whammy on ‘Survivor Palau’
Both Tara Caceres and Echo Macias got voted off in a surprise twist last Oct. 16 on “Survivor Philippines: Palau.”
Tara, known for her “strong” character, got eliminated first.
However, it was Echo who got in for a shock that night.
“Sobrang nagulat ako. Patunay lang ‘yung pag-iyak ko na hindi ko talaga inaasahang ma-vo-vote off ako. Very firm pa ‘yung sagot ko kay Paolo [na makakasama ako sa top 5]. Right now, I’m just staying positive,” said Echo on “Startalk.”
Tara said she simply was “herself” all throughout her stay in the island.
“Who are they [castaways] to judge me? Hindi naman ako nakikipag-plastikan. Nagpapakatotoo lang naman ako.”
Ex-beauty queen attempts suicide
Former beauty queen Lyka Ugarte was rushed to the hospital on Oct.12 because of a suicide attempt.
Lyka admitted to have been in a dejected state of mind when she committed the act. She cited financial problems compounded by the recent calamity and a break-up with her loved one as her reasons.
“I was just so overwhelmed I didn’t have enough strength anymore. I took sleeping pills, anti-anxiety and anti-depressants until I was numb. I just didn’t want to feel anything,” a teary-eyed Lyka recounted on “Startalk.”
It was her fourth suicidal attempt. She is currently seeking professional help.
Kaye Brosas moving on after ‘Ondoy’
“Lovers in Paris” actress Kaye Brosas is thankful for her new four-storey house where she and her daughter now reside after their last one in Vermont, Antipolo got submerged in flood water on Sept. 26.
“Ngayon mo lang malalaman kung sino ang mga tunay na kaibigan at ang mga tunay na nagmamahal sa’yo,” said Kaye on “Entertainment Live.”
“Nagsimula sa Puso” gets favorable feedback
The first week run of the Maja Salvador starrer “Nagsimula sa Puso” has received good feedback from viewers.
“Natutuwa po kami kasi ang ganda ‘nung feedback. Nahu-hook sila. Gusto nilang mag-next day ulit para makapanood,” Maja beamed.
She also denied talks that she is an “ingrate” and a “playgirl.”
“Baka po may mga ganung write-ups lang dahil d’un sa character ni Celina. Pero hindi po ako ganun. Alam niyo pong hindi ako ganun,” she explained.
Anne Curtis and Angel Locsin’s ‘Shop and Share’
Kapamilya actresses Anne Curtis and Angel Locsin have spearheaded an online auction for the benefit of typhoon victims.
“Shop and Share,” Angel said, is tied up with Red Cross so proceeds immediately go to the organization.
Stars from both networks have already pitched in some of their prized possessions. Among these are Kris Aquino, Boy Abunda, Heart Evangelista, Sam Milby, Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, Ruffa Gutierrez, Regine Velasquez, Maxene Magalona, KC Concepcion, Pokwang, Dingdong Dantes, Dennis Trillo, and Richard and Raymond Gutierrez.
KC goes on UN Mindanao mission
Ambassador to the United Nation’s World Food Programme KC Concepcion paid a visit to Iligan, Lanao del Norte on Oct. 16 to celebrate “World Food Week.” KC said the mission gave her an opportunity to get to know the needs of the city’s residents.
Gerald Anderson ups the ante with ‘MMK’ role
Gerald Anderson has challenged himself further as an actor by playing a man with “Tourette Syndrome” in a forthcoming episode of “Maalala Mo Kaya.”
The young actor said he met with letter sender Jerome Concepcion who both humbled and inspired him with his fortitude.
“Sobrang nakakataba ng puso at ako ‘yung pinili [na gumanap]. Sana magawa ko ‘to ng maayos, matuwa si Jerome, at maka-inspire ako ng iba pa,” said Gerald.
Gerald also sent his message to furious Kimerald fans who protest his forthcoming pair-up with Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo.
“Gusto kong magpasalamat sa supoprta niyo sa amin ni Kim. ‘Wag kayong mag-alala [dahil] may gagawin kaming movie ni Kim at magugustuhan niyo siya, promise,” said he.
Kapamilya talents now registered voters
Kapamilya artists lined up inside ABS-CBN compound on Oct. 17 to register for next year’s elections.
The star-studded registration was a collaborative effort among ABS-CBN Corporate Communications Department, Star Magic, and COMELEC to engage more Filipinos to register and vote.
“Kung ‘di ka boboto, parang kulang ‘yung pagiging Pilipino mo,” said Kim Chiu.
