Expect a hilarious 24th season of “Daisy Siete” via its “My Shuper Sweet Lover” which starts airing Monday, Oct. 19 on GMA-7!

Jopay, the lead female star, plays as delivery girl/driver of a water drinking station. From the trailer we have seen, Jopay not only delivers plastic water dispensers to their customers but she also carries the loaded dispensers herself. “It’s a man’s job,” she said. But she does the job willingly though it makes her lose her poise. Jopay has one inspiration, however: Joaquin “Joaqs” Alonzo (played by Joshua Zamora) president of a Shoe Center.

Jopay often has heated arguments with Joaquin, but such hot situations only bring the two closer. But Aifha, girl friend of Joaquin, hates Jopay so much.

What makes “My Shuper Sweet Lover” more interesting is the inclusion of Janice Jurado in the cast. It is a public knowledge that Janice was a victim of drug addiction for several years and the very reason she faded out from showbiz.

Janice experienced so much deprivation – and poverty – during those years.

“Practically all stars helped me to get out of the quagmire,” Janice confessed. At that time, she was like a “dead person walking.” No one would like to get close to her. She became a persona non-grata!

But Janice, realizing the uselessness of being a drug addict, vowed to free herself from the addiction, and with the help of her colleagues in showbiz, Janice finally came out clean.

And she declared: “I am drug free!” Using her own experience, she also vowed to help in the campaign against drug addiction.
She also stressed: “There is a Christ in heaven, as well as there is also Christ here on earth. And I learned to pray!

In “My Shuper Sweet Lover,” Janice plays a role very appropriate to her experience. She plays Celeste whom her son left to London because she has already become an incorrigible drug addict.

As far as what we can see in her, Janice is very much a charming woman, the pleasant glow on her face has returned. Indeed, with “My Shuper Sweet Lover” as her new vehicle, she can regain her lost years in showbiz and become once again a well-respected movie actress!

“My Shuper Sweet Lover” becomes even more interesting when Patricio, Jopay’s father and driver of Alberto Alonzo (father of Joaquin Alonzo) becomes sick and Jopay has to take his place as driver.

Jopay, now the driver of Alberto Alonzo, is now an insider in the household of the Alonzos, and which gives her more opportunities to meet Joaquin.

Among the other cast in “My Shuper Sweet Lover” are Marissa Sanchez, Felix Roco, Marissa Sanchez, Carmen Sanchez, Dick Israel, Jay R. de Guzman, Julian Trono and Jack Rodrigo.

Daisy Reyes’ new role

Daisy Reyes may have shied away from the limelight for more than five years but she claims that she has not been hiding. The beauty queen actress is just so engrossed with her business that she has to relegate her showbiz career to the background. But she is not completely turning her back to showbiz. If a juicy offer comes along, she says she would accept it, if time permits. With 26 films to her credit, she hopes to do more serious roles.

“As one gets older, one gets emotionally motivated,” she points out. “So I guess I’d be a better actress this time around.”

Meanwhile, Daisy plays full-time mother to five-year-old daughter Lauren, while doing business on the side. She has tried distributorship, networking, real estate, and direct selling. Her self-named salon in San Joaquin, Pasig has been enjoying a wide clientele for five years now. “I believe that motherhood is no reason for idleness,” she says. “God gifted us with so many talents. We should put them to use without neglecting our domestic chores.”

The lovely actress launched recently her Daisy Reyes Premium Papaya Soap and signed up with AIM Global as exclusive distributor. And to enhance her business acumen, she enrolled at the Asian Institute of Management.

“Everyday is a learning process,” she says. “We should not rest on our laurels. Discover something new that will contribute to our betterment.”

Daisy says her back-to-school stint is her gift to herself – she celebrated her birthday last Oct. 14.
