Cinema One proudly brings this multi-awarded film to the City of Smiles at the Robinsons’ Movie World in Bacolod City from Oct. 21 to 27. “Yanggaw” features Ronnie Lazaro, Tetchie Agbayani, Joel Torre, Aleera Montalla, Monet Gaston, Gio Respall, Leon Gaston, Keith Bryan Cabanez, Lilit Reyes, and Erik Matti. This is directed by an Illongo, Richard Somes who also conceptualized, completed the screenplay with its dialogue in pure Illongo.

Hailed by critics to be an intelligent horror film, “Yanggaw” won countless awards and was even exhibited abroad. It emerged the top winner in the 2008 Cinema One Digital Film Festival. It won Best Director, Best Actor (Ronnie Lazaro), Best Supporting Actor (Joel Torre), Best Supporting Actress (Tetchie Agbayani), Best Sound (Joey Santos and Eduardo Velesquez) and Best Editing (Borgy Torre). It won the Best Digital Film Director and Best Digital Movie at the 25th PMPC Star Awards for Movies. At the recent Gawad Urian, practically everybody was delighted for Ronnie Lazaro who deservedly won the Best Actor and received such thunderous applause. Last March, “Yanggaw” had its successful screening at the Hong Kong Convention Center in the Hong Kong International Film Festival and likewise made its successful theatrical run practically all over Metro Manila.

“Yanggaw” is produced by Cinema One and CPI (Creative Programs, Inc. through its annual Cinema One Originals independent film project.
