A solemn procession will be held at 3 p.m. Novena masses were held from September 5 to 13.
In Tarlac City, pilgrims, devotees, and tourists traditionally gather at the Monasterio de Tarlac at the Church of the Risen Christ in Barangay Lubigan, San Jose, where a silver reliquary containing a part of the Holy Cross, the only one of its kind in Asia, will be displayed for public veneration. The reliquary may be venerated daily after the holy mass at 10 a.m. by the monastic congregation of the Risen Christ. According to the Tourism Bureau in Central Luzon, the monasterio is the most revered pilgrimage site in the region.
Commemorative masses in celebration of the feast will also be offered in Carigara, Leyte; Sincaban, Misamis Occidental; Maribojoc, Bohol; Bacolod City, Negros Occidental; and the Diocese of Butuan.
Also known as the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross, today also marks the titular feast of the Congregation of the Holy Cross and the Episcopal Church’s Order of the Holy Cross.
