Nigerian nabbed for alleged use of fake credit cards
A Nigerian national was arrested in an entrapment operations by a combined team of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and Parañaque Police Saturday afternoon in Paranaque City, following a complaint of his use of counterfeit credit cards filed by three officials of the Philippine Airlines (PAL) at the CIDG Office in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
Supt. Alfredo Valdez, Parañaque Police chief, identified the suspect as Joshua Chika, of Lot 4 Block 2 Allenville Manggahan Lawin Binakayan, Cavite City.
Valdez said the suspect was arrested by the combined team during an entrapment operation at Chowking, Barangay Baclaran, Roxas Boulevard, Parañaque City.
They were identified as Col. Dionalo Antalla, OIC-Security Sub-Department; Annabel Santos, Supervising Agent, both of Safety, Security and Environment Department of PAL , located at PAL Gate 2, Andrews Avenue, Nichols Pasay City and Emraida Besin, Mirebn International Manpower located at Block 31, Kasilak, Busana, Davao City.
Police said the three victims filed a complaint against the suspect after discovering that PAL had been losing millions of pesos through the alleged online ticket booking to the airlines using counterfeit credit cards.
It was learned that aside from PAL, several Overseas Filipino Workers also became victims of the suspect.
Police, believing that the suspect is in cahoots with others in his illegal activity, is now conducting study and investigation for their immediate arrests.
The suspect, now detained at the CIDG detention cell while investigation is being conducted against him, will be facing charges of violation of access device act and estafa and swindling.
