P40 M for Cebu barangay infra projects
CEBU CITY (PNA) – The Cebu City Development Council (CDC) is pushing for P40-million worth of barangay infrastructure projects, even as it awaits other requests for projects to be charged to the P260-million Local Development Fund (LDF) for 2010.
The list of projects includes the opening of new roads, road concreting, lots acquisition and the construction of day care and health centers.
The CDC has approved 12 resolutions of the Infrastructure Development Committee, which includes the endorsement of eight projects to be included in the Annual Investment Plan (AIP) for 2010.
Cebu City Administrator Francisco Fernandez told CDC members their requests for projects will be collated before December so they can be included in the AIP.
The menu of projects will be submitted to the mayor and city councilors for them to identify what will be prioritized for funding.
Items in the AIP will be funded by the P260-million LDF, which the city officials hope to release by early January.
”By Dec. 11, all the requests should be submitted so we can already approve the AIP before the end of the year to avoid the delays we encountered this year. Let’s submit everything so it can be approved by the CDC to be part of the menu that the council and the mayor will choose from,” Fernandez said.
