Meet ‘Patient X’ Wednesday in theaters nationwide
Starting on Wednesday, Oct. 28, audiences nationwide will finally meet “Patient X.” The movie, topbilled by Richard Gutierrez and Cristine Reyes and produced by GMA Films, Viva Films and RGutz Productions, was premiered Sunday night at Cinema 4 of SM Manila. And if the shrieks and screams of the audience were an indication, the horror flick megged by Yam Laranas will indeed be another blockbuster at the tills.
In the movie, Richard and Cristine play doctor and a mysterious patient, respectively, which has been described as “very different from past horror movies in terms of concept and fresh twists that will undoubtedly bring new meaning to Philippine horror flicks. With world-class concepts and a powerhouse cast, ‘Patient X’ is expected to be not just another ‘scare’ movie but more rightfully, a ‘chillingly awe-inspiring’ film.’ No doubt the film is creating international buzz and is being awaited by film buffs in other parts of the world.”
Fresh from his Hollywood stint, Direk Yam once more unleashes his impressive “horror and suspense” creative skills to make a masterpiece that will truly be an unforgettable experience for all moviegoers.
GMA Films’ President Atty. Annette Gozon-Abrogar said: “The last horror movie partnership with GMA Films and Viva Films, ‘Ouija,’ was a blockbuster hit.
Looking at ‘Patient X,’ I believe we have produced another suspense-filled horror movie that will make the audiences scream! Kudos to Direk Yam, Richard and Cristine!”
Viva Executive Vice President Vincent del Rosario, on the other hand, shared: “Viva is proud to have partnered with GMA Films and RGutz in this world-class and groundbreaking horror movie!”
GMA Films Producer Joey R. Abacan added: “I’m happy that Yam Laranas chose to work with GMA Films after his Hollywood stint. As producers, we learned so much from each other and from what I’ve seen from the final product, I realized that the resources that we gave to the movie were magnified by his creative genius. Actually, magaan ang process and this is one movie that I am proud of. This will be a real screaming experience!”
Viva Senior Vice President Veronique del Rosaria said: “It’s always a pleasure doing projects with GMA Films. I hope the viewers will enjoy watching our latest earth-shaking offering – ‘Patient X!’”
Richard Gutierrez: You can’t put a good man down
Despite adverse publicity and attempts of some people to put him down, Richard Gutierrez remains on top, primetime king and box-office star. Indeed the saying “you can’t put a good man down” applies to him.
The actor’s blessings continue to pour without let-up. They may well be called his rewards for being a loving and caring son, brother, uncle, and friend. He is generous – at times to a fault. Co-workers admire him for being dedicated, a complete professional.
This is not to say that Chard is perfect. Like any other human being, he has his faults and weaknesses. But his virtues more than make up for those shortcomings.
Blessings, or rewards, come in the form of numerous commercials and endorsements, an upcoming soap for his home studio GMA (“Full House”), more film assignments, TV specials on environment, best actor nomination, and a chance to co-produce “Patient X.”
“Patient X” may well be called a high-water mark in his acting career.
