Multi-talented TV personality Daniel Razon is jubilant that his latest album “Isang Araw Lang” has gone gold with about 12 thousand copies immediately put out by request. This he told the Manila Bulletin during a recent ribbon cutting to open a new business centre under his care called BMPI.

His 10-song album containing 90% covers is actually led by the original title track that also serves as theme song to a film project of the same name. However, the brilliant cover choices from the past decade have helped ensured its power being easy-to-like.

His gentlemanly voice may not be considered that exceptional but the sincerity of the singing and the great melodies that carried it along seized a strength good enough to produce good sales.

“I’m happy about how things turned out well for this album which I also promoted in a concert some weeks back. The choices were not all personal favorites but I think it’s a good line-up and I enjoyed doing the recording,” says Razon who is behind the BMPI Business Centre located at 1002, 10th floor, Prestige Tower in Ortigas Avenue.

With his passion for singing extending his medium to reach out, he has previously released an album called “All My LIfe” that feaured his take on that America classic bearing the very title.

For “Isang Araw Lang,” the OPM catalogue of the ’90s proved a good source of material as all of which that ended on the album are songs originally done and composed by some of the biggest band acts of the era. The revivals include young classics from Eraserheads (“With A Smile”), True Faith (“Huwag Na Lang Kaya”), and Alamid (“Your Love”).

Both Afterimage and Side A have been represented in the album twice, with the Wency Cornejo sung and penned “Habang May Buhay” and “Tag-Ulan” and the latter’s “So Many Questions” and “Forevermore” making the shortlist. It must have been pretty exciting for Razon to share his voice and put a different pop feel to these familiar tunes delivered by OPM vanguards being looked up by the current crop. The other band song picks are “Hold On” (Neocolours) and “I’ll Never Go” (Nexxus).

The record handled by producer Krist Melecio and top-notch mixing engineer Angee Rozul was recorded at Pink Noise and done for the benefit of Free College Education, another of Razon’s worthy projects, and some others affiliated to Kamanggagawa Foundation which he is also spearheading. Razon also dabbles in photography and already published a coffeetable of his visually excellent images.

Fondly called by TV audience as Kuya Daniel Razon, the former GMA-7 talent is now a UNTV morning show master behind some of the most effective humanitarian efforts on TV today. His BMPI (Breakthrough & Milestones Productions International Inc.) Business Centre boasts of classy serviced office executive suites, virtual offices, and meeting rooms that should easily capture the imagination of people into serious business. Prior to the formal opening, various businesses have already rented spaces for their office needs, including heartthrob Ryan Ramos’ Sports Basic Apparel, the Morong Star Beach Resort, DSR Printing & DSR Multimedia Productions, the AVU Insurance, among others.

“We are offering an ambience to impress your guests and allow them to feel at home,” expresses the multi-tasking celebrity who’s also the BMPI chairman.

Created for enterprises not having corporate offices in Mega Manila but would want to rent for such an atmosphere, the BMPI Business Centre also provides services that include and not limited to secretarial support, reception, document storage, color copiers, voicemail, and Internet.
