‘Burgos Halloween Parade’ slated Friday
Be in your scariest yet most creative getup and win generous cash prizes! It’s so simple to grab those big amounts. Just the “Burgos Halloween Parade” happening on Friday, Oct. 30 along P. Burgos St. in Barangay Poblacion, Makati City and you’re sure to get the grandest Halloween treat ever. If you’re 18 years old and above and you have that artistic inclination, this exciting contest is definitely for you.
Anyone who joins in his creepiest garb wins the Best In Costume category with a cash prize of P10,000. Those with Scariest, Funniest, Best Historical or Most Famous Person, Best in Fantasy and Best Superhero look win P2,000 cold cash. Not only that… by simply participating in the fun competition, 30 lucky participants will be picked to get P1,000 each as consolation prizes. Meaning, there’s no room for defeat here because the night is not just an event of competition but a showcase of artistry as well.
Interested participants should register on Friday at 8 p.m. and assemble at the venue at 10 p.m. Parade proper starts at 11 p.m., followed by the exciting awarding of winners at 12 m.n. Remember, you should be 18 years or older if you want to join the fun.

‘Starstruck V’ goes worldwide
As Starstruck’s fifth season reaches fever pitch across the archipelago, Filipinos worldwide will now experience the mania of GMA Network’s original and undisputed reality-based artista search as it launches a series of auditions to all Pinoy aspirants around the globe.
“Starstruck V,” being the network’s grandest and most ambitious season thus far, commences its international auditions among applicants who want to bare their dreams in the biggest platform to stardom.
Auditions will be held on the following dates: Singapore (Oct. 30 and 31); Tokyo, Japan (Nov. 3 and 4); Middle East, Bahrain (Nov. 3 and 4), Dubai (Nov. 5) and Abu Dhabi (Nov. 6); USA: Los Angeles (Nov. 5 and 6), New Jersey (Nov. 7 and 8) and New York (Nov. 9 and 10).
Audition venues per country will be announced on GMA shows and in GMA Pinoy TV and GMA Life TV on Saturday. Interested applicants can also e-mail their name, age and contact number at starstruck@gmanetwork.com.
Inspiring stories on Lifestyle Network’s first decade
The Lifestyle Network, on its 10th Anniversary pays tribute to 10 outstanding women who have made exceptional marks in the fields that they’ve chosen and have touched the lives of people around them as they live out their passion. Completing the list is cancer survivor and advocate Kara Alikpala who bravely faced the challenge of defying cancer; Chef and Entrepreneur Margarita Fores who best represents the channel’s food equity; Chairman Emeritus of Mc Cann Worldgroup Phils.

All roads lead to the World Trade Center for the much-awaited NU 107 Rock Awards ’09: High Definition! This year’s Rock Awards is about providing a clear presentation of what the current state of the local rock scene is. NU 107 Rock Awards ’09: High Definition! will give focus to the artists who are undeniably at the top of their game, and have reached the summit of OPM supremacy.
This year’s Rock Awards will feature fantastic live performances from Chicosci, The Dawn, Franco, Greyhoundz, Itchyworms, Juan Pablo Dream, Kamikazee, Kjwan, Pupil, Rico Blanco, Sandwich, Sugarfree, Up Dharma Down and Urbandub. Score tickets to Nickelodeon’s “Shocktober,” an event where all things festive, fun and frightful will get together to scare you silly. It will be held on Oct. 31 at the Music Hall of SM Mall of Asia.
Nicksters, be in your most fashionable and fang-tastic costumes. Witching hours are from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Visit participating Toy Kingdom and Toy Express stores and purchase a minimum of P1,000 worth of items (inclusive of Halloween toys; until Oct. 31 only) to get one ticket good for two persons.
