Clark airport cargo handler appeals to the President

By Carizza Ibañez MIASCOR Aviation Services has appealed to President Rodrigo Duterte to reconsider his position after the Chief Executive earlier threatened to replace the aviation ground service provider after six of its employees were implicated in theft involving the luggage of a passenger at Clark International Airport in Pampanga. (crk.clarkairport.com / MANILA BULLETIN) (crk.clarkairport.com / MANILA BULLETIN) In a statement, MIASCOR said that they would issue an appeal to the President “to kindly reconsider his position on behalf of our almost 4,000 regular employees and their families who will be affected.” MIASCOR also expressed regret that “the actions of six erring employees in Clark International Airport have negatively impacted the Company.” MIASCOR also reiterated in their statement that their company has been in the tourism and aviation industry since 1974, serving major airports in the country including the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, and explained that “the recent incident does not define what MIASCOR stands for and how it operates.” The embattled aviation services company said that they have already reached an amicable settlement with the owner of the luggage Jovenil Dela Cruz after they have reached out to him right after the issue broke out. MIASCOR has also terminated the six erring employees who now also face criminal and administrative charges. MIASCOR has apologized and promised that the company “shall do everything it can to remedy the situation.”
