Adam Lambert: 'For your entertainment' or...horror?

If you think Adam Lambert has already shocked you to the point that he can't shock you anymore, think again.
It’s “Mad World” round two when the "American Idol" Season 8 runner-up announced on Oct. 27 via his Twitter account, the album cover for his debut album, “For Your Entertainment.”
The cover art must be aiming to live up to the album title. It shows Adam with frosty pink Angelina Jolie-ish pouty lips, neon blue hair, striking eye make-up, and a gloved right hand pressed onto his tilted face against a cosmic backdrop.
Before critics and disappointed fans could raise more uproar over it, Adam tweeted that he made the cover art “deliberately campy,” to pay tribute to the '80s from where he drew much inspiration for his album.
“Thank you to those who appreciate and understand that the album cover is deliberately campy. It's an [homage] to the past. It IS ridiculous,” he posted.
“For those that don't get it,” he added, “glad to have gotten your attention.”
Rickey Yaneza, a popular American Idol blogger, put up a poll to determine the public’s pulse.
As of this writing, out of 1,300 total votes, 32% (421 votes) “love it!” while 68% (879 votes) find it “Ewww.”
Even fans themselves posted mixed opinions about “Glambert”’s album cover art.
“I hope Adam's new album's cover will spark discussions about gender that some people are afraid to touch. What do you feel when you see someone like Adam looking all dolled up and androgynous on his album cover? If you think it is different, does it mean it's bad?” wrote one blogger.
“WTH [What the heck] IS THIS?! I know it’s supposed to be like “Adam Lambert from the Planet Fierce,” [as described by one fan in his official website] but somehow, it’s screaming BLAKE LEWIS [American Idol Season 6 runner-up] all over the place and doesn’t really show how fierce or awesome Adam is,” yelled another.
“Aiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeee! It’s soooooo gaaayyyyyyyy! Looks like Elvis Presley in drag!!!”, one criticized.
“The Glambert [is] showing his true colors! Love him or hate him, he’s always entertaining!” said another fan.
The Rock & Roll Idol promises that his first single, “For Your Entertainment,” will “make ya dance for sure, [so] get ready!”
He demonstrates his songwriting chops on the tracks “Strut,” “Aftermath,” “Broken Open,” and “Down The Rabbit Hole,” even as it features collaborations with British alternative rock band Muse, Lady GaGa, OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder, Darkness’ Justin Hawkins, and songwriter-“Idol” judge Kara Dioguardi, to name a few.
While waiting for the album’s Nov. 23 release, fans can get a piece of Glambert via “Time for Miracles,” the carrier single of the “2012” movie soundtrack.
