Ian Veneracion won best actor in the 38th Oporto International Film Festival in Portugal.

The 43-year-old actor was recognized for his film “Ilawod” of Quantum Films.
Veneracion portrayed a website reporter who accidentally brings a vindictive water spirit that proceeded to wreak havoc in his home.
Dan Villegas, director of Ilawod, congratulated Veneracion through an Instagram post.
“TOL PANALO!” Villegas said.
Aside from Veneracion, Iza Calzado was also featured in the film.
Meanwhile, "Bhoy Chinese" film directed by Joel Lamangan also bagged the Special Jury Prize under the Director's Week section of the festival.
“Ilawod” is one of three Philippine entries in the film festival dedicated to fantasy/science fiction/horror-oriented feature films, auteur films and experimental projects from all over the world.
