Ina Raymundo of “Sabado Nights” fame remains a stunner at 43 years old. The mother of Erika, Jacob, Michaela, Annika, and Minka also just celebrated her 16th wedding anniversary with Canadian businessman Brian Poturnak.
Blessed with a great career, Ina just wishes good health for her family, especially her grandmother in Bulacan whom she visits monthly. Ina is a lola’s girl having lived with her ’till high school.
“She taught me to pray fervently. She was religious. She told me I am nothing without God,” Ina said fondly. “My love for family came from her as she valued family more than anything else.”
Ina’s sense of family is evident on her Instagram account where she has 762,000 followers. While many stars post mostly selfies, Ina fills her account with pictures of her children and husband.
INA RAYMUNDO: ‘To my husband, I am Miss Universe.’
“I have to ask permission though when I post pics of my first born Erika and my only son, Jakob. But with my three angels Michaela, Annika and Minka, I have the freedom to post as much pictures as I want,” Ina explained.
As godmother to both Erika and Jakob, I understand why privacy is important to the teenagers. The two mixed Canadian-Filipinos are so good-looking that everytime their mother would post a photo of them, it goes viral.
“All of them are athletic,” Ina said. “Erika loves softball, Jakob is the star player in their baseball team,
Michaela Jaye loves wallclimbing, Annika plays soccer and Minka is starting to love baseball. I go to my son’s baseball games even if it is out of town.
“Yes, I am a baseball mom and I am proud of it. Even when my tapings would end at 4 a.m. and Jakob’s game is at 7a.m. – with barely three hours of sleep – I still go to his games.”
Speaking of making an effort, it’s Ina’s mantra too when it comes to fitness.
“I tape scenes around three times a week and there are times I just want to sleep all day. But I promised myself to be fit for my children so I push myself to exercise and work out daily before taping. I love Zumba and maybe in the future when I get the time, I can get a certification to teach Zumba.
“I love dancing and I feel so energized when I am with my friends dancing. My Zumba classmates are so close with each other we created this group called Kerrybelles because we all work out at Kerry Sports inside Shangri-La.”
Ina flies to Canada today to celebrate Christmas there with her family. She returns January to continue her teleseryes, and to shoot new endorsement advertisements.
Her advice to those who want to have a vivacious body: “Eat right and exercise not for yourselves but for your children. If you do not have one, then do it for your health. Preventing sickness is better than curing it. It’s also less expensive.”
