Arroyo leads ‘Go Negosyo Caravan’ in Balanga
BALANGA CITY, Bataan — President Arroyo leads this Thursday the awarding of the “Most Inspiring Bataeño Entrepreneurs and Micro-Entrepreneurs,” one of the highlights of the “Go Negosyo Caravan,” a whole-day affair here.
Rep. Abet S. Garcia, 2nd District, said the “Go Negosyo Team” along with its community of mentors and entrepreneurs led by its founder Joey Concepcion will be in Bataan to bring its entrepreneurship caravan to Bataeños at the People’s Center here.
Dubbed as “Go Negosyo Goes to Bataan: Be Smart. Be Enterprising!” the caravan is a whole-day event with free seminars on entrepreneurship, product and trade exhibit, and negosyo clinic to provide assistance and inspirations of Bataeños who wish to start a business.
The event will be participated in by thousands of Bataeño entrepreneurs, women sector, youth, scholars, and government workers who will assemble at 7 a.m. at the Balanga City Plaza. The group will then march towards the People’s Center in a symbolic gesture to boost entrepreneurship awareness in the whole of Bataan.
During the whole-day affair, there are also seminars to be conducted by the Go Negosyo proponents and other seasoned entrepreneurship gurus. The topics include product development, marketing, branding, financial management, business start-ups, business and technology, packaging, among others.
Apart from Concepcion and Rep. Garcia, also joining the Go Negosyo Bataan Caravan are Trade and Industry Secretary Peter Favila, Senator Richard Gordon, Bataan Gov. Tet Garcia, Balanga City Mayor Joet Garcia, and Bataan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (BCCII) President and V Cargo CEO Paulo Tibig.
The event will be hosted by Cito Beltran, Susan Enriquez, RJ Ledesma, Chal Lontoc, and Bobby Yan with live performances from Hale and Mike Chan.
The Go Negosyo event came after Bataan was chosen among the top 10 provinces with best quality of life based on the Human Development Index (HDI).
Others in the top 10 are Pampanga, Benguet, Rizal, Cavite, Ilocos Norte, Batanes, Nueva Vizcaya, and La Union, the newest in the list that dislodged Bulacan.
The bachelor lawmaker and eldest son of Governor Tet Garcia explained that HDI is the basis for a country’s ranking in terms of human development by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) that is divided into three components: Longevity, knowledge and standard of living.
