27 Filipinos abroad added to DFA tally of COVID-19 patients

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Wednesday reported 27 new confirmed COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) cases among overseas Filipinos in four countries in Asia and the Pacific and Europe.

No new fatalities and no new recoveries from COVID-19 were recorded in the DFA’s latest report.

The total number of overseas Filipinos infected with the virus since the start of the pandemic in February this year has now reached 10,534.

Of the total, 6,727 have recovered, 3,015 are undergoing treatment and 792 died of the disease.

To date, the total number of countries and regions with confirmed cases among Filipinos remains at 78.

Together with the various consulates, embassies and posts worldwide, the DFA said it remains fully committed to monitoring and assisting Filipinos abroad amidst the ongoing battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.
