Members of President Rodrigo Duterte’s Cabinet showed up at the Senate on Monday to support Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go who has been invited to shed light on the controversial Philippine Navy’s P15.7-billion frigate deal.

Go has been invited by Senator Gregorio “Gringo” Honasan II, chair of the Senate committee on national defense and security, which is hearing Senate Resolution No. 584, filed by the Senate minority bloc.
The resolution filed specifically seeks an inquiry into the status of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) modernization program in light of Go's alleged intervention in the acquisition of the combat management system (CMS) for the two Navy frigates.
Among the Cabinet members present in the hearing included Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, Communications Assistant Martin Andanar and Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson, Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II, Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano, Presidential political adviser Francis Tolentino.
As promised, most Cabinet members showed up at the Senate on Monday to show support for Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go, who was dragged into the Philippine Navy’s P15.7 billion frigate deal.
Actor Robin Padilla, a staunch supporter of President Duterte, also showed up at the Senate to support Go.
Several pro-Duterte supporters also trooped to the Senate to support Go.
