A shower of rose petals greeted the relics of St. Therese of the Child Jesus when these were brought to the San Fernando De Dilao Parish in Paco, Manila, Sunday.
Some parishioners who positioned themselves on top of the church, threw white and red rose petals when the reliquary, containing the relics of the Saint known as "the Little Flower," made its way into the church.
Those, who waited by the church’s doors, waved yellow flaglets, while a band played in the background.
Monsignor Rolando Dela Cruz, parish priest of Paco Church, said they felt honored to have been visited for the second time by the relics.
"May your visit bring us real conversion, repentance, and new life," said Dela Cruz.
Born in France in 1873, Saint Therese of the Child Jesus has been a highly influential model of sanctity for Catholics because of the "simplicity and practicality of her approach to the spiritual life."
