ILOILO CITY—Roman Catholics in Iloilo and Guimaras are urged to change their ways for the better.
Archbishop
Angel Lagdameo “Easter is a celebration of joy. With the Lord’s resurrection, He brought new life. So, we should also show that we can change,” appealed Archbishop Angel Lagdameo, who is the apostolic administrator of the Archdiocese of Jaro. Lagdameo reiterated how the Catholic faithful should emulate the essence of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In the local dialect of Hiligaynon, Lagdameo said that self change is shown in the goodness we do for others, of sacrifices and of love. “Only then can we truly experience the joy of Easter,” Lagdameo added. Meanwhile, Lagdameo will officially retire next month. Fr. Joenick Territorio, Judicial Vicar of the Archdiocese of Jaro, earlier said that Most Reverend Jose Romeo Lazo will be officially installed as archdiocese’s sixth archbishop on April 17, 2018. To recall, Pope Francis accepted Lagdameo’s resignation last February and appointed Lazo as Lagdameo’s replacement.
