'Akyat Bahay' duo slain

Regala Camp Olivas, Pampanga — Two of at least four “Akyat Bahay Gang” suspects who broke into the Sydney Hotel in Clarkview, Barangay Malabanias, Angeles City last Thursday night were killed in an encounter with police the morning after. Police operatives were on the lookout for the armed robbers when they spotted a Hi-Ace van that matched the description of the getaway vehicle on Jose Laurel Avenue, Barangay Anunas in Angeles at 6:30 a.m. Police tailed the van, but were fired upon by the suspects, resulting in a shootout that killed John Ray Atienza and one alias “Lincon.” Two other suspects got away.
