Siemens wins automation contract for Eagle Cement plant in Bulacan
Siemens, Inc., Philippines, an electrical engineering conglomerate and global leader in the field of automation systems, was recently awarded a plant automation project by Eagle Cement Corporation, a new player in the cement industry which is currently building its plant in Ildefonso, Bulacan.
The supply contract involves the installation of CEMAT V7, a process control system that Siemens specifically developed for the cement industry. This cutting-edge software provides enhanced productivity, flexibility, and efficiency throughout the entire plant and production lifecycle, thus ensuring Eagle Cement’s competitive edge when it begins operations in (date to be confirmed). The plant is expected to produce 1.5 million metric tons of cement or 35.2 million bags per year, an efficient contribution to the local construction industry today.
“The project signifies the progressing partnership between Eagle Cement and Siemens, which will be working closely to develop the process design and control engineering of the new plant. This is backed up by Siemens’ local competence, expertise and track record in automation, process controls, and lifecycle management,” said Arvin De Jesus, Manager of Industry Automation Department, Siemens, Inc., Philippines. Siemens’ CEMAT has been proven and tested in both the local and global market for nearly 30 years.
