Pandacan Depots Services bags DoLE’s safety award
Pandacan Depots Services, Inc. (PDSI) has been given the Safety Milestone (SMILE) recognition award by the Department of Labor and Employment-Bureau of Working Conditions for implementing successful occupational safety and health (OSH) programs.
PDSI was awarded last November 5 after achieving 5,135,032 Safe Man-hours without Lost Time Accidents from March 9, 2005 to May 30, 2009.
The company, celebrating its 5th year founding anniversary this month, has achieved 6,022,199 safe man-hours with no lost time accident as of October 31,2009, “PDSI shares its achievements with all its employees, contractors and clients from Chevron Philippines Inc., Petron Corporation and Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation,” PDSI General Manager Eric Lizardo said.
SMILE honors companies and individuals who have achieved or contributed to safety milestone of no lost time accidents and who are compliant with general labor standards and OSH standards.
Two PDSI OSH practitioners were also given recognition during the event for their significant contribution and active involvement in the implementation of OSH programs and activities.
“The recognition shows PDSI’s commitment in ensuring safety of all employees and contractors not only in the workplace but even at home. The award inspires us to achieve our goal ‘Towards zero incidents,” Lizardo said.
PDSI and other companies also signed in the Renewal of ‘‘Commitment for Workplace Safety and Health’’ as a demonstration of its commitment and priority given to safety and health at the workplace.
