Ava Paguyo: Moving Out

Ava Paguyo is quickly making a name for herself with a smashing debut in the Philippine Fashion Week Vision and Trends Collection. The collection conjures up fun references to moving boxes with pieces that say “babasagin” and “nawawasak” through an exuberant combination of ingenious cuts and a fluorescent palette mixed with the basic black, white, and gray.
Says Ava, “My collection is inspired by recent events, of getting thrown off, of making sense of things, and trying to rearrange one’s life.” And the young designer revels in its tongue-in-cheek concept and details without losing each piece’s wearable factor. A particular favorite, little twist is the “sando bag” top, wittingly playing on the concept of the plastic bag.
We love Ava’s innate inclination to all things fun and quirky, and we just can’t wait where this talented designer will be moving next.
