Locsin will just breeze through CA, says Lacson

By Mario Casayuran The bicameral Commission on Appointments (CA) will confirm the appointment of Ambassador Teodoro ‘’Teddy Boy’’ Locsin as Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) secretary faster than he could finish singing in the shower.

Panfilo M.Lacson as chairman of the CA foreign affairs committee which calendared for next week the reglamentary public hearing to determine Locsin’s fitness to hold a Cabinet position. Lacson said the CA confirmatory process on Locsin’s appointment would be easier than his singing in the shower. It will be the task of Lacson to schedule the public hearing of and ultimately his committee’s endorsement of Locsin’s confirmation by 13 senators and 12 House of Representatives members in a CA plenary session. Locsin was the Philippine permanent representative to the United Nations, a Makati City congressman and a media practitioner. Lacson said the CA has traditionally confirmed without hassle the appointments of former congressmen and senators. The CA has honored this tradition when it confirmed at a very fast clip the appointment of former Senator Alan Peter S. Cayetano when he was named as DFA chief by President Duterte after the May 2016 presidential elections.
