A blessing, a big break or a high profile endorsing job – this was what TV vixen Niña Jose got as reaction to her posing sexy for a calendar ad for an alcoholic beverage. In fact, this can be called a lot of things but Niña said it won’t be a license for her to bare more skin in her future projects.

“This is my sexiest pictorial ever even if you compare it to what I did for some men’s magazines,” described Nina. “But I don’t think I’m ready to show more. Maybe I can go topless or show my back but not all the way.”

To undress more or not in front of the camera will also depend on how beneficial it will be to her acting craft. She also admits that future sexy roles will be based on how mature she has become as an actress.

“I don’t want to be tagged only as a sexy actress because I know I can do other roles. I also want to do more as an actress... I can still switch from doing sexy to being sweet and I can prove people wrong who would think that I’m just a ‘sexy actress,’” expressed a confident Niña Jose.

In fact, Niña hopes to do challenging roles in the near future like a person with mental disability. If she thirsts for such roles, it is because she wants a deeper understanding of what goes into the minds of the mentally deranged and hopefully portray the role well for either television or the movies.

At the moment, Niña is showing nationwide viewers her versatility as an actress. She is in two daily afternoon shows, the gag show “Banana Split” where she struts her comedic talent, while she showcases her dramatic skills in the soap opera “Nagsimula sa Puso” with Maja Salvador, Coco Martin and Jason Abalos.

In the movies, Niña takes on a mature role of a woman who provides for her boyfriend in “I Love Dreamguyz” and she is also in “Mano Po 6,” Regal Films’ entry to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival. The latter film excites her more as she is paired with matinee idol Dennis Trillo. She plays a policewoman who has the “hots” for Dennis in the said film.

“I really like working with Dennis because he is a good actor. He is nice and he respects me. This is also the reason we had an easy time doing our love scene. At first I was shy but as an actress you just have to do your best with the roles given you. And we’re happy with the result,” said Niña.

She stressed though that their so-called love scene was done with taste and was only suggestive because “Mano Po 6” is a wholesome movie.

“There will be no baring which is nice. So there’s still mystery in me,” she smiled.

With regard to Dennis Trillo, Niña Jose described him as the best kisser among all the actors she has kissed in the past like Gerald Anderson, Enchong Dee and Mark Herras.

So why did he call Dennis the “best kisser” of them all?

“I really don’t have any criteria. But Dennis was just very passionate when he was kissing me,” the actress said, blushing.

Niña also cleared rumors that Dennis is courting her or that she is in a romantic relationship at the moment.

“I’m not in any relationship because I’m not ready for it. And he is not courting me. But I do have suitors from both networks as well as non-showbiz ones,” giggled Nina. “But I’m not yet ready to have a boyfriend.”

But what’s her criteria for a boyfriend?

“Number one for me is that he should go to my home and be introduced to my parents. He should be respectful of me, what I do and my family. He must be trustworthy and I like someone who prays a lot,” she replied.

As to her latest endorsing gig as the latest Tanduay Calendar Girl for 2010, she is mum about the monetary aspects of it, but points out to the prestige of being Tanduay’s new Calendar Girl as one of the reasons she agreed to her sexy poses. For her, it is an honor to represent a “world-class-company” as well as be associated with the different liquor brands of Tanduay Distillers. She also believes that it would give her showbiz career a boost!

“My parents understand why I took the job. Besides I don’t have to worry since men will just be looking at my photos and nothing more. These are just sexy photos of me but that doesn’t mean that I’m just a sexy actress. I can do more as an actress,” she remarked.

The drawback though for Niña Jose as a “sexy actress” who has already appeared in FHM and Maxim and now as the Tanduay Calendar Girl of 2010 is that her dreams of joining Bb. Pilipinas will now remain only as a dream. She is crossing her fingers though that she may join other beauty pageants.

Lastly, did Niña Jose have any “body enhancements?”

“Everything in me is real, my face and my boobs! I don’t have anything against people who have plastic surgery it’s just that it is not me. I’m not the type… basically I’m happy because that means I look good and that’s why people keep asking me if I had any cosmetic surgery done,” Niña concluded.
