Lying lazily on my hammock, beneath the clear blue sky, I can’t help but appreciate the beauty of nature. Combining it with good soothing music can definitely bring so much pleasure. Of course, good music will be much appreciated if heard on a good quality audio and video player much like the Sony Walkman NW-S644.

NW S-644 is part of the new Walkman players introduced by Sony. It comes in a super slim and svelte design with a weight of 53 g against the dimensions of only 92mm x 41mm x 7.9mm.

It features a 2-inch LCD display whose colors are vibrant and images lifelike having a resolution of 240 x 320.

Under the screen are the classic 5-way (function) buttons arranged in concentric rings with the home and power buttons superimposed on the outer ring.

These buttons are soft to touch and fairly responsive. The volume and hold buttons are tucked away at the right side while the headphone and dock ports are as usual located at the bottom.

The player comes with MDR EX 300SL earphones. These are high quality closed vertical in-the-ear type of headphones that produces vocal and instrumental sound with vivid clarity. It is made of high silicone rubber ear buds for a secure fit and long-term comfort.

What is truly eye-catching is that units are available in hip and vibrant colors that would surely match one’s personality. Another plus factor for the Walkman S-644 is that it comes with a speaker dock that truly matches your player.

The Sony Walkman NW S-644 supports AAC, MP3 and WMA. It has a photo viewer and a video playback. All these can be stored in its 8G memory. An FM radio is available, clear bass, clear stereo and a digital sound enhancement engine (DSS) that enhances the sound quality of compressed audio files.

With this feature, you can hear rich and natural sound almost exactly like the original. Although S-644 does not have the noise canceling feature that of the S-740, it however has ambient noise filtration.
Battery life is sweet with its audio playback time of up to 42 hours and 10 hours of video; more than enough to pass the time and enjoy good music.
