Absentee voting done by mail, says Comelec
Except for countries where there are many Filipinos, Overseas Absentee Voting (OAV) will still be done by mail.
Commission on Elections (Comelec) spokesperson James Jimenez said voting will still be done by mail in most areas abroad because an automated election system (AES) would require the personal appearance of a voter.
“Sa AES kasi they have to be there to cast their ballot personally and that’s going to be very difficult for our overseas workers,” he said.
