The recently concluded fifth edition of Cinema One Originals Digital Film Festival screened five new works, five past winners, five Danny Zialcita classics, five Brillante Mendoza masterpieces and Raymond Red’s “Himpapawid.”

But only one movie stood out during the Nov. 15 awards night: “Wanted: Border.”

The film about a religious fanatic who kills her tenants and cooks their mutilated bodies, copped seven prizes including Best Film, Best Director and Best Screenplay for Ray Gibraltar, and Best Actress for Rosanna Roces.

"Wanted: Border" was also honored for topnotch work in cinematography (Ogie Sugatan), music (Malik Lopez and Eric Romulo), and production design (Al Alacapa, Winston Lazaro, and Allan Hilado).

Richard Legaspi’s “Paano Ko Sasabihin,” which is headlined by TV stars Erich Gonzales and Enchong Dee, won the Audience (or Viewer’ Choice), Special Mention and Best Editing awards.

Veteran Rio Locsin and newbie Jan Harley Hicana Rebanal of “Si Baning, si Maymay at ang Asong si Bobo” were honored as Best Supporting Actress and Best Supporting Actor, respectively.

Former teen star Mikhel Campos was named Best Actor for “Maximus and Minimus,” which Nap Jamir and Jimmy Flores jointly directed.

“Bala Bala” and “Si Baning, si Maymay at ang Asong si Bobo” closed the film fest on Nov. 17.
