Here’s news for his women fans: Christian Bautista is a virgin!

In an interview during the recent launch of “Myx Mo 2009: Bangon, Republic of Myx,” he said that it was his choice to remain a virgin.

“[I see it as] something I can offer my future wife,” expressed Christian.

However, this doesn’t mean that his future girlfriend or wife should be a virgin as well. He clarified that he doesn’t want to be judgmental. By remaining a virgin even at his 20s is part of his conviction as a person. It also reflects his upbringing as a Christian.

Single for almost two years now (his last girlfriend was singer Rachelle Ann Go), Christian also intimated that he is not in a hurry to have a girlfriend. He is swimming against the “current” of young male celebrities having “a lot” of girlfriends. He stressed, “Para maiba naman ako.”

He also believes that God will give him the right woman in His time. Christian is also a fan of old-fashioned way of dating and spending quality time with the woman he goes out with. “Right now di pa puwede magka-girlfriend because we have so much plans for 2010. We would be launching my album in Indonesia and even Malaysia,” he said.

He also expressed that when the time comes when his future wife asks him how many girlfriends he has had, he doesn’t want to give her “a big number” for an answer.

His being a “blessed single personality” has its downfall though which Christian said he was aware of. And this is about his sexuality. “Of course I don’t like it when people say that I’m gay,” he lamented. “But I don’t need to get a girlfriend just to prove that I’m not gay!”

He understands that intrigues are part of an artist’s showbiz life. But he wishes that people be more understanding especially if he chooses to be single and especially a virgin!

Christian Bautista will participate in the upcoming “MYX Mo 2009: Bangon Republic of MYX” which is happening on Nov. 26 at the SM Mall of Asia. The event encourages individuals to have a positive outlook in life and hope for the future. Its goal too is to empower the Filipino people to keep the faith and unity as a nation despite the tragedies it experienced the past month.

The free concert tickets will be available from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Nov. 23 to 25 at the Center Road Gate of ABS-CBN.
