Oreo Bungee Dunking Saturday

November 20, 2009, 3:03pm

In a bid to advocate bonding between parent and child,  Oreo is inviting all mothers and their children to the Oreo Bungee Dunking Saturday, Nov. 21 and Sunday at the activity area of the Alabang Town Center.

The event is set to remind mothers of the most endearing moments between them and their kids. Oreo hopes to increase the awareness on the fact that a mother’s bonding time with her kids can make a great impact on the child’s growing up stage.

“We need to nurture our children from the time we give birth to them till time they become young adults,” Jennifer B. Wieneke, mother of four rambunctious boys, and VP of Draftfcb, an advertising agency. “By doing the simplest thing with our kids, we cement our relationship with them for life. When my children were younger, our favorite weekend activity was huddling around the TV with Oreo and chips in tow, watching funny movies. It became like a ritual that my kids looked forward to and still remember till Saturday.

Create that moment now! Join The Oreo Bungee Dunking activity and make bonding moments more exciting as the kids get to enjoy fun time by bungee jumping into a glass of milk, just like an Oreo dunks into milk. The event is open to all children, 7-12 years old, accompanied by a parent. They just present three empty Oreo Snack Packs at the entrance to the activity area to participate.

Taguig is host city for World Pyro Olympics ’09

The World Pyro Olympics Executive Committee has chosen Taguig, as the host city for the upcoming World Pyro Olympics 2009 (WPO 2009).

Steered to be the Philippines’ premier city by 2020, Taguig was selected by the international committee after evaluation of various participating countries.

Slated Nov. 21, 28, Dec. 5, 12, and 19, at the Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, WPO 2009 is the first international pyro-musical competition in the country that will feature the best pyrotechnics designers from People’s Republic of China, South Korea, Japan, Australia, Canada, Germany, the United States, and defending champion Italy.

“Winning the bid is a testimony that the City of Taguig has arrived. Taguig is now not only the best city to do business in as the World Bank proclaimed last year, we are now also an entertainment capital that offers world-class shows,” proudly announced Taguig City Mayor Freddie Tinga.

The multi-million production is predicted to be doubly exciting this year as a new format, the Pyro-Musical, will be adopted where pyrotechnics will be meticulously synchronized to music using state-of-the-art computer technology.

On Dec. 19, WPO will culminate in a “Fellowship of Fire’’ where excerpts from the best of the eight competing countries will be presented consecutively, preceding the Philippine pyrotechnics exhibition.

Spearheading this event is La Mancha of Manila, an award-winning Filipino-based pyrotechnics group that bagged second place at the 9th International Fireworks Festival in Zagreb, Croatia this summer.

WPO 2009 is made possible by the Department of Tourism, Pepsi and media sponsors Jack TV, 2nd Avenue, ETC, MYX, Business Mirror, the Manila Bulletin and radio stations NU 107, Barangay LS-FM, Easy Rock, Home Radio, Yes-FM, Home Radio, and DZBB.
