Raikkonen goes on sabbatical
Former world champion Kimi Raikkonen will take a leave from Formula One next year after talks about a move to McLaren collapsed.
Last month, Ferrari released Raikkonen from his contract leaving the Finn with a lone option of moving to McLaren. Raikkonen had earlier said that he would only move to a top team.
However, speculations that Jenson Button and McLaren are now in talks about a probable move resulted in the collapse of Raikkonen’s talks with the British team. Last week, Raikkonen’s manager Steve Robertson revealed that their talks with McLaren had come to an end.
With his sabbatical from F1, Raikkonen is reportedly contemplating of entering the World Rally Championship with the Red Bull team.
