PAGASA expects rains in Mindanao
Flashfloods and landslides may occur in Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao following reports from the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) that a rain-causing weather system intensified near Mindanao last Friday.
PAGASA issued the advisory after spotting a Low Pressure Area (LPA) along the Philippine Sea at 11 a.m. yesterday. This is expected to bring occasional to frequent rains over Mindanao.
Weather forecasters also noted that the LPA may trigger flashfloods and landslides after expecting rains caused by the weather system to become frequent in the eastern section of Mindanao.
"Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms becoming widespread over Eastern Mindanao, which may trigger flashfloods and thunderstorms," PAGASA said.
