No family feud, says Pacquiao
With his wife Jinkee by his side, Manny Pacquiao made it clear that all is well within his family. He kissed her on the lips, smiled and held her hand and the crowd loved it.
It was his way of quashing rumors that he has been smitten by a movie starlet who has a way of appearing in places where Pacquiao seems to be at a particular moment.
The woman in the middle of the triangle, showbiz starlet Krista Ranillo, was reported to be at ringside last Sunday but she was not around when Pacquiao, arrived 5:30 a.m. yesterday with Jinkee and a huge entourage from Los Angeles.
A short press conference was held at the NAIA airport and as expected, the pound-for-pound king was asked about the young Ranillo, his leading lady in their December filmfest entry “Wapakman.”
Pacquiao said that people should just enjoy the movie and not mind other people’s private business.
For her part, Jinkee said she does not wish to dignify the rumors.
“Let’s not talk about that,” she said.
What is important is “we’re very happy right now.” Pacquiao said the same.
“Masaya ako at nakabalik na sa Pilipinas at kasama ko mga kababayan ko lalo na ang mga anak at pamilya ko,” he said.
The Pacquiaos hugged their children Jimuel, Michael and Princess as soon as they met at the airport. Youngest daughter Queen Elizabeth was not around to meet his celebrity dad.
From the airport Pacquiao went to the Renaissance Hotel to have breakfast then later on heard a morning mass at the Quiapo Church.
Pacquiao, who annihilated Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto inside 12 rounds to grab the World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight crown last weekend in Las Vegas, remains mum about his boxing and political future.
“Pahinga muna at mag-enjoy sa bakasyon kasama ang pamilya,” said Pacquiao.
In the past, Pacquiao has been vocal about his intention to run as Representative in Sarangani’s lone congressional district. The official filing of candidacy is from November 20 to December 1.
Those close to Pacquiao, however, have been urging the boxing champion to instead focus on few more fights that has the potentials of being one of the highest if not the highest grossing Pay-Per-View event in the history of boxing.
No less than Golden Boy Oscar De La Hoya has declared in his internet blog that the Pacquiao-Mayweather match can reach an unprecedented 3 million in PPV buys.
