The Lady Spikers refused to be cowed by the feisty Lady Falcons, turning to their strong digs and sharp serves to claim their 11th win against two losses.
The triumph also gave La Salle the No. 1 seeding regardless of the outcome of its last elimination match against archrival Ateneo on Sunday.
Kim Dy sparkled throughout the match and pumped in 17 points built on 13 kills, three blocks and an ace. Sophomore setter Michelle Cobb also silently contributed for the Lady Spikers with six points highlighted by four aces, while also making 32 excellent digs.
Libero Dawn Macandili covered the floor for La Salle, managing 17 digs and 25 receptions.
Adamson soared to a 16-10 lead in the third frame courtesy of Jema Galanza.
Failing to close the match early, La Salle returned in the fourth with a more aggressive approach to overpower Adamson for good.
Adamson absorbed its eighth loss against five wins to kiss its Final Four hopes goodbye. The Lady Falcons hope end the season on a high note on Saturday when they play their last match against also-ran University of Santo Tomas Tigresses.
CJ Soyud and Jema Galanza tried to keep Adamson alive and finished with 17 and 12 points, respectively, but the Lady Falcons’ weak net defense and 31 errors were crucial in their performance.
Incidentally, La Salle struggled with more errors with 34, but made up in its serve by smashing 18 aces.
