Indonesian Foreign Minister on 2-day visit to RP
Indonesian Foreign Minister Dr. R.M. Marty M. Natalegawa is set to arrive in Manila for a two-day official visit from November 23 to 25.
Natalegawa is expected to meet President Arroyo and Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto Romulo to discuss ways to further strengthen the bilateral ties and "renew mutual cooperation" between the Philippines and Indonesia both in the regional and international levels.
Upon Romulo's invitation, the Indonesian chief diplomat, a career diplomat for more than 20 years, will pay his first visit to the Philippines since his appointment last October.
"His visit is significant and auspicious as the Philippines and Indonesia are commemorating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year," the DFA said in a statement.
Prior to his new post, Natalegawa served as Indonesia’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom and Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York.
