At least 14 parking enforcement teams will be sent by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) throughout the metropolis to enforce the implementation of parking policies to ensure sidewalks are free of obstructions.

Onboard Isuzu multi-cabs, the seven-man parking enforcement teams are authorized to issue traffic citation tickets to motorists whose vehicles are found parked inside the “pink line” boundary.

The MMDA’s Traffic Engineering Center (TEC) chief Noemi Recio said two parking enforcement teams will go around their assigned areas to inspect the sidewalks.

Any vehicle parked within the “pink line” boundary or whose parts are found protruding in the sidewalk will be instantly given citation tickets.

“If the vehicle owner is not present, the citation ticket will be left in the windshield,” Recio said.

In the first few days of parking enforcement operations, the MMDA personnel will conduct an information campaign by handing out pamphlets and materials detailing the ''pink line” rules.

“On each (Isuzu) multi-cab, our teams will be using megaphones or public address system to let the people know about our program,” Recio said.
