Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benjamin Madrigal Jr., said the order of the Communist Party of the Philippines for its armed wing -- the New People's Army to “mount tactical offensives across the country” after Congress extended martial law in Mindanao for another year, further justifies the decision to prolong martial law.

"Our troops are always ready to face them," he added.
