The sexy Nathalie Hart didn’t look four months pregnant when she met with the entertainment press recently but, yes, she is.
NATHALIE HART
Over late lunch, the sexy actress said she’s excited to enter a new chapter in her life with her fiancé and their coming child, a baby girl.
It was early May when Nathalie confirmed she’s on the family way. She took several pregnancy tests right after the day she missed her menstruation period.
“I bought different kinds (of pregnancy test kits), there’s 100 pesos, 50 pesos. Then I told myself, ‘Wait, is this accurate?’ I needed to make sure it’s really positive,” she recalled, laughing.
The baby was unexpected, Nathalie admitted, adding she cried when she first found out especially now that she’s busy with so many projects, including her latest film “Kusina Kings” under Star Cinema.
“I wasn’t ready at all. But I realize that there’s no perfect timing for this. Like, ‘if it’s gonna happen, then it’s gonna happen,” she said.
Among her friends in show business, the actress shared Cristine Reyes was first to know about her condition. The two are working together in Viva Film’s upcoming movie “Abay.”
She thanked Cristine for not squealing on her “secret.”
“The good thing about Cristine is that she is also a private person especially when it comes to her family life. I mean, I never intended to keep my pregnancy secret. It’s just that, I waited for the right timing,” she explained. “My pregnancy is not a negative thing and I’m proud of it. I’m happy and excited for this.”
Nathalie is set to give birth in January. Among her cravings are turnip and pineapple.
“My family, especially my mom, is so supportive of my pregnancy. I’m really excited to see her (the baby),” she said.
The couple plans to name the baby Penelope.
The fiancé
By year’s end, Nathalie will exchange I Do’s with the baby’s father, Indian businessman Mayank Sharma.
How did he react when told about the baby, we asked.
“He told me, ‘It’s okay, we’re getting married anyway so there’s no problem,’” she recalled. “Then I panicked eh, I said ‘Hey, what’s gonna happen to us! We’re having a baby.’ But he was so calm and I can hear his excitement.”
Nathalie said her fiancé is “very gentleman” and “super supportive.”
Now that she’s getting married, the actress will refrain from doing nude and intimate scenes.
“Though he’s very supportive of me, well, I just have to respect him as a man. If he doesn’t want me to do those kinds of scenes anymore, maybe I should abide, right? I think that’s the right thing to do,” she said.
Nathalie and Mayank will have two weddings. One is a civil wedding in Australia by December, the other is a Hindu wedding in India next year.
Showbiz projects
Despite the sudden turn of events in her life, Nathalie assured fans she will not bid showbiz adieu.
During the interview, some reporters pointed out that many actresses have managed to successfully return to showbiz after giving birth.
Nathalie said she intends to the same.
“I will return,” she said, noting she still has nine more films under her contract with Viva.
“I will not give up my career. I’m happy that I will become a mother and a wife soon but I also love being an actress. I think there’s no reason for me to stop as long as I can manage my time well,” she declared.
If anything, Nathalie is more inspired to work now. She is also part of the upcoming remake of “Patayin Sa Sindak Si Barbara;” and “Sunday Night Fever” alongside Diether Ocampo and Ricky Davao.
