Ogie Alcasid emcees at ex-wife’s wedding reception
Singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid revealed that it was his ex-wife Michelle van Eimeren's idea for him to emcee at her wedding reception last Nov. 21.
“Sabi ko, ‘Ako? Baka magdugo ang ilong ko kaka-English!’ [Pero] sabi niya, ‘Ano ka ba? Trabaho mo ‘yun, no!’ so sabi ko, ‘Sige, I’ll do it,’” he narrated.
Ogie’s girlfriend Regine Velasquez sang “And I Love You So” at the wedding.
Ogie is happy that Michelle ended up with Australian Mark Murrow whom he calls a “good man.”
“He is the most respectful person I know. Michelle has met someone who’s really, really, really good. They have finally tied the knot and I’m very happy for them,” he said.
Another event that Ogie is excited about is the release of the benefit CD he produced, “Kaya Natin ‘To,” on Nov. 22.
“Bawat piso [mula sa benta] ay mapupunta sa mga nawalan because of [typhoons] Ondoy and Pepeng,” said he.
Ogie also revealed that more artists have pledged their participation in the Dec. 5 concert that is in line with his benefit project.
