Two-yr-old boy among 6 fatalities due to COVID-19 in Davao City
DAVAO CITY - A two-year-old boy was among the fatalities due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) here last weekend.
Based on the updated profiles of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Davao region released by the Department of Health (DOH) on Monday night, the boy was from Barangay 8-A, and had no known history of travel and exposure.
He had the onset of symptoms last October 3, and was admitted on October 17. The child died on the same day.
He was the youngest of the six fatalities recorded last Sunday.
The other fatalities included a 71-year old man and four other women aged 45, 52, 60, and 65 years old.
As of 5 p.m. Monday, the DOH Davao Center for Health Development reported two additional deaths in Davao City, and 28 new cases of COVID-19 in the whole region, bringing the total number of active cases to 782 and deaths to a total of 143.
Davao region has recorded a total of 4,065 COVID-19 cases. The DOH said the latest cases included 26 from Davao City and two from Davao del Norte.
Meanwhile, 43 recoveries were reported on Monday, bringing the total number of recoveries to 3,140. The DOH added that 37 of these were from Davao City, five were from Davao del Norte, and one from Davao de Oro.
