Absolut’s rockin’ rebirth

Absolut Vodka has always been rebellious, a deviant machine that goes against everyone else, a cut above the rest, from generations to generations it flourished to become the most ground-breaking instrument that inspires designs, a certain lifestyle and encompasses all types of individuals. Pinoy rock idols were on hand for the celebration as well as their friends from the entertainment and fashion industry, ready to rock things out style in a recent soiree for the iconic drink.

This season Absolut Vodka will set another movement in the party scene, and so with all ambition, style and confidence, Absolut brings you a birth of new rockstar. A new limited edition bottle for those who wants a little something extra in the most stylish way possible, inspired by the Rock and Roll heritage but with an evolved look. This limited edition bottle is like the genuine rock outfit, made out of synthetic leather and stylishly decked out with metal studs.

Manila’s trendiest and rockiest gathered at the Manor Superclub in Eastwood City, Libis. Guests came in full force rock-coutured and rockified as they were treated with overflowing Absolut Vodka mixes and cocktails, the party was pumped into full volume with the performance by the country’s legendary band The Dawn. Hot models sashayed down the runway featuring the rock collections from Ino Caluza of Viktor Jeans and quirky fashion designer Kate Torralba, clothes were specially designed for the Absolut Rock Edition Event.

Fall Out Boy’s Greatest Hits

From a Michael Jackson tribute, a trip to Africa, an adorable bulldog, director monkeys to kissing scenes with Kim Kardashian, people may think that Fall Out Boy has done it all. Yet, the true sign that a rock band has truly marked their territory in the genre they belong to is a Greatest Hits album. With the release of “Believer’s Never Die,” Fall Out Boy gives a special treat for those who have followed them over the years.

It’s a trip down memory lane. From Patrick’s weight transition, Pete’s increasing jump trajectories and styles, Andy’s developing tattoo canvass and Joe’s clean to very dirty look, listening and viewing to their music and videos reflects an evolution with chapters that are plotted in ways only Fall Out Boy can do.

Fall Out Boy’s initial album “From Under the Cork Tree” garnered tons of fans internationally and locally thanks to the hits “Sugar We’re Going Down” and “Dance Dance.” Then they released their album, “Infinity on High” which became the tipping point of the band in the Philippines. They became so big in the country that there was immediate demand for them to visit and have a sold-out concert at the Araneta Coliseum. With their awards, tours, collaboration with music’s legends and increasing fan base, it is high time for Fall Out Boy to have their greatest hits album, “Believers Never Die.” Stay tuned for the premiere of the video of their new single, “Alpha Dog” at MYX Music Channel.

The Tides Double Whammy

It was a night to remember as The Tides Hotel Boracay held its 2nd Year Anniversary festivities last month where notable personalities like Raymond Gutierrez, RJ Ledesma, Teresa Herrera, Alvin Pulga, and Bubbles Paraiso flying all the way to Boracay via SEAIR’s 35-minute flights to party and to celebrate the milestones that the hotel has received for the past two years.

Among its many distinctions, The Tides Hotel Boracay was able to garner the 2009 Consumers Choice Award for Most Outstanding Luxury Destination Hotel. This chic boutique hotel was also cited in the prestigious New York Times as one of the 44 Places To Go in 2009, an honor not many hotels around the world can claim. Held at Manor, Eastwood City, Libis last July 31st, the hotel was also able to pursue its Awards Gathering for Outstanding Sales (AGOS) 2009, which was a way of giving back and honoring its partner travel agencies, whose efforts and continued patronage led to the success of the hotel.

The first party went with a Nautical theme with most of the people in their blues and whites. They dance the night away to the beat of DJ Santi, and partied with the amazing mixes of Chivas and Absolut. During the second day, the guests had a special treat as Ms. Teresa Herrera, host of the fashion reality series, “Project Runway Philippines,” led guests to a Trance Dance Yoga Class. This set off the sunset session party for the second night with the theme “Going Green.” Nivat Chantarachoti, General Manager for Thai Airways, awarded Ms. Herrera a round-trip ticket to Phuket, Thailand for her outstanding efforts in helping the environment. For two nights, people raised their glasses and celebrated two years of continuous success. They all left with a gift pack from the amazing skin care DNAge products of Nivea. The Tides partners, held a toast to thank their affiliate companies like South East Asian Airlines (SEAIR), Nivea, Chivas, and Absolut, and their media partners for their support in the hotel’s endeavors and their participation in the event, which made the event, surely, one for the books.
