The shape of things to come on primetime TV

Rosalinda and Fernando Jose’s love story concludes on Nov.. 27 while Carlo and Vivian’s romance reaches the climax second week of December but not before Justin and Jessie start getting to know each other.

This is the shape of things to come on primetime TV -- on leading networks ABS-CBN and GMA-7 at least – before the year ends.

But what will happen now to the love team that “Rosalinda” stars Carla Abellana and Geoff Eigenmann have built on the set of GMA-7’s version of the hit Mexican telenovela?

The Kapuso network’s PR department pointed out that Carla and Geoff headline the ongoing “SRO Cinemaserye Presents Carinderia Queen,” which runs Thursday nights for only a month. “Carinderia Queen” premiered on Nov. 12.

The love team has separate assignments, too. Carla is one of the co-hosts of the revived artista search “StarStruck,” and Geoff is being considered for a guest role in Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal’s forthcoming early primetime fantasy series tentatively titled “The Last Prince.”

Hopefully by next year, Carla and Geoff will do another major project together. Meantime, their fans have to wait and see.

“Lovers in Paris” stars Piolo Pascual and KC Concepcion are not a love team, so after ABS-CBN’s remake of the hit Koreanovela, it may really take a while before the A-listers act side-by-side again after their current project bids adieu in less than two weeks.

What’s more interesting is the Kapamilya network’s choice of a program to fill in the timeslot that “Lovers in Paris” will vacate.

ABS-CBN’s PR department said it’s still up in the air but the options center on the station’s yet-to-debut shows. On top of the list is the much delayed Judy Ann Santos nurserye now officially titled “Habang May Buhay,” but it’s been announced to premiere in February.

Most likely candidates are “Kokey,” “Rubi,” and the “Precious Hearts” series. Then again Channel 2 might just spring a surprise.

What’s certain is that the local version of another successful Koreanovela, “Full House,” will start its run on Nov. 30 to complete Channel 7’s Telababad block.

Richard Gutierrez and Heart Evangelista, who first worked in 2008’s action-drama series “Codename: Asero,” will reprise the Justin and Jessie roles made famous by Korean stars Jeong “Rain” Ji-hoon and Song Hye Kyo.

How would Richard, who’s known for his action or fantasy series like “Mulawin,” “Captain Barbell,” and “Zorro,” fare in the rom-com genre that he’s done in movies for the past Valentine seasons? Stay tuned.
