CAMP COL. RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City -- A total of 525 individuals facing different charges were arrested 30 days since the assumption to office of Northeastern Mindanao Police Regional Office (PRO 13) Regional Director Chief Supt. Gilberto DC Cruz.

From September 11 to October 11, 2018, various police units of PRO 13 arrested 121 drug personalities in the intensified drug war in different places in the five provinces and six cities in Caraga region.
“The war on drugs will continue without let up until Caraga is declared a drug-free region in Mindanao and Caraganons will be rendered safe from the scourge of illegal drugs,” Chief Supt. Cruz told The Manila Bulletin on Thursday.
In the same period, 127 grams of shabu valued at P 1,498,600 and 1,152grams of marijuana worth Php63,376 were confiscated by the various police drug enforcement units. Five drug personalities also died in the process of operations, PRO 13 said.
At least 206 wanted persons, 78 violators of illegal gambling, 29 involved in illegal logging were arrested while 62 individuals were charged with illegal fishing and 29 suspects for illegal possession of firearms, it said.
“We expect these figures to increase in the coming weeks as our focused police operations went into high gear,” the region’s police chief said.
He said these big accomplishments served as an inspiration to every PNP personnel in bringing the anti-criminality campaign into a higher level.
“All our field unit commanders, directors, chiefs of police and municipal chiefs of police is directed to step up their drive and clear their respective areas of responsibility (AORs) of any form of crimes while protecting all their respective communities,” Cruz said.
Meanwhile, among the 17 PNP regional offices, PRO13 ranked 2nd in the nationwide ranking on crime solution efficiency with 83.67% for September 2018 next to the National Capital Region Police Office with 83.89%..
Aside from the anti-criminality and crime-solving efforts, PRO13 is also preparing its security measures to make the 2019 elections more peaceful and safe for the Caraganons, PRO 13-RPIO also added.
