Actress and award-winning TV host Kris Aquino has added another feather to her already colorful cap, and this is as an ambassador! No, not ambassador as in a diplomatic position but as ambassador of entrepreneurship for Boardwalk Business Ventures, Inc. And recently, Kris, who’s definitely one of the most influential Filipino women today, was welcomed to the Boardwalk family during a formal contract-signing held at the Boracay Room of Sofitel Philippine Plaza Hotel.

In an interview prior to the contract-signing, Bernardo H. Madera, president and CEO of Boardwalk, said Kris is the perfect embodiment of his company’s business advocacy, considering the fact that Kris “had shown the world what truth and perseverance can do to one’s life. She is a person who had her fair share of both the best and the worst things that life has to offer, and so she is in a position to say that she can empathize with other people well, thus has a sincere desire to help them out. As other people had helped and guided her through her life, Kris now pays it forward by doing the same to as many as she can, whether directly or indirectly.”

Boardwalk, on the other hand, as Ms. Glenda Pingol, Business Development Division Head, reminded everyone, “had been continuously helping Filipinos to improve their way of living by providing them business opportunities. This gives them ample avenue to show their entrepreneurial prowess and earn unlimited income. All these while being trained by professionals on how to handle their expenditures and improve their business, despite the challenges that come their way…”

Madera said he and his wife Imelda P. Madera, who is vice president of Boardwalk, started their company 18 years ago, initially supplying department stores with their products. But two years after, they decided to go into direct-selling. Now, Boardwalk has more than one million dealers, and more than 200,000 families are now dependent on the Boardwalk business as their source of income.

As ambassador of Boardwalk, Kris will promote the company’s business advocacy when she goes around to speak in various special occasions. Kris said that before she was tapped to be Boardwalk’s ambassador, she met the Madera couple when she decided to buy slippers to be given to Ondoy victims in San Mateo. Through a friend, she asked them for a discount which the couple readily agreed to, and then realizing that they both are in a self-imposed mission to help others, the Maderas offered to make Kris their ambassador of entrepreneurship.

“If I was easily convinced to be their ambassador it’s because I know that they give good value for money…” Kris revealed that she was first a Boardwalk consumer before she became ambassador.

By the way, Boardwalk’s celebrity endorsers are Jean Garcia, Assunta de Rossi, Rich Asuncion, Cherry Pie Picache, Ryan Agoncillo, Bangs Garcia, Ram Sagad, Edu Manzano, Jake Cuenca, Gabby Concepcion, and Erich Gonzales.

PPL’s early Christmas treat for the movie press

Perry P. Lansigan, president and CEO of PPL Entertainment, Inc. led his artists in giving the entertainment press the earliest Christmas treat ever this year. The party that was capped by a grand raffle of attractive prizes was held last Nov. 26 at the Celsius Bar along Sct. Rallos in Quezon City.

Perry’s talents include Dingdong Dantes, Jolina Magdangal, Angelica dela Cruz, Ryan and Geoff Eigenmann, Carlo Gonzales, and Arthur Solinap. They were there of course for an intimate evening and update with their friends from the entertainment press.

Perry’s resignation from “SOP” a few months ago was prompted by his desire to go full-blast in his management company, he said. Aside from managing talents, PPL also engages in events managements, concert production, PR advertising and marketing, and multi-media functions.

Managing and building stars are not an easy job, but that’s what PPL continues to accomplish everyday. And now, as a full-service creative services company, “we offer you our expertise in making things extraordinary,” Perry said.

From PPL’s premier artist Dingdong Dantes: “I’ve been with PPL from the very start. It has made me grow into what I am now, that’s why I’m excited with what PPL can do for you, too.”
