The municipal government of Taytay, Rizal confirmed Sunday the death of one of two coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in the town.
In a Facebook post, the Taytay Public Information Office’s statement said: “Ang isa po ay pumanaw na sa ospital at agad na na-cremate sa St. Peter Crematory. Matapos and pagsusunog sa mga labi ng babae na taga-Barangay San Juan ay dumating ang results ng kanyang test mula sa DOH RITM na nagsaad na positibo sya sa COVID-19.”
(One of them was cremated at the St. Peter Crematory. After the cremation of the remains of the female patient from Barangay San Juan the results from the DOH RITM arrived which confirmed that she was indeed positive for COVID-19)
The statement further read that the other COVID-19 case, also from Barangay San Juan, was immediately brought to a hospital in Ortigas Avenue after experiencing symptoms, and later the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed that the patient was positive for COVID-19.
The local government of Taytay is currently monitoring 11 persons under investigation (PUIs) and 106 persons under monitoring (PUMs).
